For SEK 23.6 billion would Japanese Canon devour the Swedish IT company Axis. For the largest owner, 72-year-old Christer Brandberg that sits on more than 10 million shares in Axis, it means that he takes home around 3.4 billion if the deal goes through.
How did you get into of the Company as owner?
– It was 1989. Axis needed money to expand their business and then included the I and money invested. It was a small part. I own a lot more this time.
What made you invest in Axis?
– It would be foolish to say that I could predict the future. I, along with two former business partners, focused on medium-sized and smaller companies and Axis was one of the companies we invest in. Currently I run the company Inter Indu along with my three sons and it is in the company that ownership exists. The sons are also part owner of the Axis but does not own as much as I do.
How do you see the current bid Canon?
– I think it is an ideal structure solution and it gives Axis very good values to continue its expansion.
How long discussions have been held?
– A little more than a six months.
Why has it taken so long to get to the point?
– It is not an easy decision. Many have to decide.

– investing in new companies.

– I have interests in a dozen companies. The media company Traveas is listed on AktieTorget. The others are unlisted.
You have previously served as advisor to the financier Jan Stenbeck. How did you come into contact with each other?
– I had met in January when I worked at Electrolux. A few years later he asked if I could help him as an advisor.
