In October begins the biggest change of banknotes and coins in Swedish history. Ahead of the modernization is the notes on exhibitions around the country. 50-patch with Evert Taube going to Liseberg.
It is barely two months left for the Riksbank to introduce new 20-, 50-, 200-, and 1000-kronor notes. The event is described as the greatest currency changeover in its history.
– The interest is great. I think they will be popular. Many also have questions and wonder in particular why note the change is made and how long the old ones are valid, says department head Christina Wejshammar, the Riksbank.
According to Christina Wejshammar several expressed their appreciation for the choice of the portrait on the 20-kronor note.
– Many are content to Astrid Lindgren now appears on a note, she says.
Before the modernization arrange Riksbank exhibitions, to inform the public about the exchange of Swedish banknotes and coins. The criteria is that it should be linked to the respective banknote cultural figure and landscape
Exhibitions will be in six different locations in August and September: Gothenburg, Vimmerby, Faro, Bastad, Abisko and Stockholm. First is the 20-kronor note that graced by Astrid Lindgren and exhibited at Astrid Lindgren’s World in Vimmerby and will run from August 3 to September 27.
The 50-kronor banknote is coming to Gothenburg. The choice of location is perhaps not entirely surprising: Café Taube at Liseberg. The exhibition begins August 19 and ends Oct. 11.

200-kronor , Bergman Center, Faro, August 6 to September 20.
500-kronor , Birgit Nilsson Museum, Bastad, August 10 to 30.
1 000-kronor , STF Mountain Station Abisko, 27 August – 20 September.
100-kronor , cinema Saga, Stockholm, September 9 to 27.
In the Riksbank’s campaign also includes an app for smart phones . Features include a currency scanner and a banknote gallery of the new banknotes.
Anyone who is eager to hold a new 100- or 500-krona will have to wait another year. They are released only in October 2016. This will also be the new 1-, 2- and 5-tops.
