Strong sales in North America were Japanese Nissan’s profits to rise sharply during the period april to December last year, the first nine months of the fiscal year. And the Chinese market, the world’s largest, is showing signs of recovery, according to the automaker.

Net profit rose nearly 34 percent to 452.8 billion yen, equivalent to about 33 billion, despite a weak development both at home in Japan and several emerging countries. Revenues rose by over ten per cent to 8.9 trillion yen (about 650 billion).

Although Nissan’s main domestic rivals Toyota and Honda, which has reported earlier, has benefited from developments in the US, where the low interest rates have made people flock to the showrooms.
