Ulf Dinkelspiel’s death is mourned by his colleagues – Aftonbladet

The renowned economist and former politician Ulf Dinkelspiel is dead.

He died after an illness.

– I grieve deeply as a friend and colleague, writes the former prime minister Carl Bildt.

Ulf Dinkelspiel (M) died of cancer on Monday morning, four months after the diagnosis. He had his family at his side, writes DN. Dinkelspiel was 77 years.

At the age of 21 he was known as the youngest aktiemäklaren in the Sweden and have yourself called up for Sweden’s first yuppie. Dinkelspiel made a name for himself in politics when he negotiated Sweden’s entry in the EU.

He was also a minister at the state Department and had responsibility for Europe – and foreign in the Carl Bildt government of 1991-1994.

After the election loss in 1994 returned Ulf Dinkelspiel to the business.

Ulf Dinkelspiel is survived by his wife Louise and three children, financier, Jan, and the self-employed person Peder and journalist Charlotte. Jan Dinkelspiel, with the nickname "Bröli", became known to the Swedish people when, in 2001, he participated in Expedition Robinson.

Former moderatledaren and prime minister Carl Bildt writes about grief on Twitter:

– Get the diplomats in the modern age has made such important efforts of Sweden in Europe, as Ulf Dinkelspiel. I grieve deeply as a friend and colleague, writes Carl Bildt.

Anders Björck, then minister of defense in Bildt’s government, would like to highlight that Dinkenspiel handled the negotiations on the Swedish membership in the EUROPEAN union when we joined the union.

– This he did with great verve and expertise. I will also remember him as a convinced european. It can be good to have with you when the EU project is exposed to very strong criticism. He was a warm pro-european simply.

Ulf Dinkelspiels death commented also on Twitter of the M-profile Gunnar Hökmark, member of the EUROPEAN parliament:

"Ulf Dinkelspiel was one of the best in so many ways, the diplomat,the negotiator,european, citizens, politicians o friend, always calm o wise with joy," he writes.

Even M-leader Anna Kinberg Batra tribute to Ulf Dinkelspiel, in a post on Twitter:

"Very sad that we lost a friend, Ulf Dinkelspiel, who secured the snuff storpolitiken and much, much more," she writes.

Before this KD-leader Göran Hägglund said: "Sad news. Ulf Dinkelspiel has gone out of time. Always positive, educational and well-read. Remember in particular cooperation in the face of EU membership.".
