Talvivaara mine may deadline – Svenska Dagbladet

the Company Terrafame, which operates the mine, thus can continue the exploratory contacts to find a new financier. The government has earmarked 100 million euros for the Terrafame Group in the supplementary budget, reports the FNB.

Minister of economic affairs Olli Rehn (C) believes that the mine has the realistic potential to become profitable. During the time that Terrafame been responsible for the operation, there has been progress when it comes to environmental safety, according to Rehn.

Terrafames chairman of the board Lauri Ratia says that the mine makes a profit of about 10 million euros a month, but he believes that the result can be positive in the beginning of 2018.

Terrafame Group is wholly owned by the state.
