Stjernholm: Failure to discuss the Ericsson public, the Business community

To that Ericsson’s second largest owners aerate their view of what is telekombolagets problems publicly is not the model for Industrivärden: work is carried out through discussions with the board and management. It says the company’s ceo Helena Stjernholm to the News Directly on Thursday.

Helena Stjernholm, is the vice chairman of Ericsson, and a member of the Sandvik and Volvo boards. In the former the company is in progress ceo-recruitment for the time being, “so it is clear that I put the focus on it,” she says as a response to what holdings she focuses on the currently.

She would not, however, pronounce itself on the prospects for, to get to appoint someone before the end of the year.

“I don’t want to comment on it in detail. It would not be right for me, I repeat just what the company’s spokesperson on the issue, chairman, Leif Johansson, red note) has said: we are in the process, but do not want to give a time limit. I don’t think it would be real.”

What is your analysis of our problems?

“the Advisory adds relatively a lot of time to analyze our companies – the industries they are in, geographies, competitors, trends, and so on -and we have a vision for each of the companies. So of course I have an answer to your question, but we want to work according to the governance model, that is to say, via the board of directors. So I have a lot of contact with the chairman and ceo and above to them what we think, but I don’t want to do it here.”

Why not?

“Given the governance model is, that we are one of several owners and I am one of several members of the board and not the spokesperson, if everyone goes out in different channels and gives his opinion, I believe that we will have a very difficult situation.”

Helena Stjernholm want to for the same reason, do not comment on whether Ericsson can be considered to have lost its technological lead over its competitors, or if there is something in particular the company should change.

the company’s focus is currently mostly on working with existing holdings, but work is also done to look at new. The ambition is to become a major shareholder in any of the stock market’s smaller companies, as a complement to storbolagsinnehaven, ” says Helena Stjernholm.

“We intend to be the owner of the listed companies within the next few years, and has been in discussion with several companies on the way to the stock market that wants to have a ankarinvesterare 10-30 per cent,” she says, and clarifies that there are no plans to buy out companies from the stock exchange and start a portfolio of unlisted holdings.

In this nine-month report mentions, as one of the two concrete examples of bolagsarbete, Industrivärden participated in the work to divide up the company in the hygiene and forest (the others mentioned are SSAB’s rights issue). The plan is to decide at the annual general meeting, Industrivärden want to according to what Helena Stjernholm, repeat to the right please become the major shareholder in the skogsdelen.

Industrivärden’s chairman of the board is Fredrik Lundberg, who also is the largest shareholder and chairman of the SCA’s skogskonkurrent Holmen. No conflict of interest because of this Helena Stjernholm, however, not to recognize, whether in the moment or after the SCA division.

“No, already today we are the major shareholder in SCA’s forest part”, answering her question about the potential problems regarding this, and asserts that the cooperation between her and Fredrik Lundberg works well.
