Nordic companies put an AI in the lead – Veckans Affärer

A AI has for the first time had a ledningsposition on a listed nordic companies. It is “Alicia. T.” on Tieto been promoted. Of course she has the right to vote.

Finnish software and services provider Tieto is the first listed nordic company to put an artificial intelligence in the ledningsposition. It writes Business Insider.

tieto’s AI-reinforcement is called Alicia T, and “she” appears in a new data-intensive business unit whose mission is to develop new business models for customers through the use of large amounts of data. Here play AI technology, a key role.

Alicia T. will serve as an advisor to the management team, but is seen as a full member and also have the right to vote.

“Our developers in the new data-driven business unit wants to test how AI – a technology that is constantly growing in popularity in consumer electronics – can assist organizations in the computer controlled decision-making. I’m sure Alicia T. will help us to find the information and create data-driven decisions that people do not necessarily think of – and therefore possibly create something totally unexpected”, says Ari Järvelä, Head of data-driven Business of the Company.

AI-the initiative gives the possibility to apply the latest technologies, including voice recognition, which could mean that Alicia T. in the future can participate in management discussions.

Järvelä mean that it is about an ongoing learning process:

“Our leadership team in the data-driven business unit will obtain valuable insights into how to create a winning team of talented people and data driven artificial intelligence”

But the Company is not the first in the world. Last year highlighted the japanese electronics giant, Hitachi, opened its first “AI manager” whose task was to oversee the company’s warehouse management system. Hitachi’s AI managed to streamline operations by 8 per cent.

AI proponent, and LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffmann wrote last summer in a column where he predicted that AI will soon going to revolutionize the business leadership and governance of workflows.
