Statistics Jobs strengthened Wall Street – Västerbotten Courier

Strong labor market data helped up prices on the US stock exchanges on Friday. The US labor market was stronger than expected in July. The number of employed outside the agricultural sector in the US grew by 255,000 compared to June, according to the country’s labor ministry. Economists had on average expected an increase of 180,000 employed.

The big banks were among the winners of the day. Bank of America rose 3.9 percent, while JP Morgan rose 2.7 percent.

The Dow Jones industrial index rose 1.0 percent, the Nasdaq composite index rose 1.1 percent while the S & amp; P 500 rose 0, 9 percent.
