Tuesday unveiled BCG its annual report of the big corporations that created the most value for shareholders over the past five years. The report shows the ten most value-creating companies in 28 specific sectors as well as an overall top ten list.

in seven of industry lists are Swedish companies.

“It can be seen that Swedish companies are rarely at the top but besides commodity segment creates the Swedish companies constantly more value than the average in their industry, regardless of what time period you look at, “says BCG’s Sweden-president Johan Oberg.

top of major Swedish companies, ports Merkel Schörling rubber manufacturers hexpol who is second in the chemical industry. The other Swedish companies are Assa Abloy, BillerudKorsnäs, Boliden, Investor, Nibe and Swedbank.

According to Johan Oberg it’s about companies that in the past five years have done things that we know creates value. Examples of value creation is change programs, clarity of what investors expect and a clear portfolio strategy that attract the right investors.

What primarily everything gets Swedish company to be above average is that they often has a strong niche position and is a global leader in its industry, according to Johan Oberg.

“Assa Abloy is a case in point. The position creates long-term and continuous growth which is the cornerstone of value creation, “he says.

The report also shows that the difference in value creation in each sector are greater than the differences between sectors.

“This shows that value creation is more about the unique companies’ strength than some industries going very well,” said Johan Oberg.

Remarkably seven out of ten companies on the overall leaderboard is American and four are pharmaceutical companies.

“the pharmaceutical industry has had a strong performance after a heavy period. Since correlate it with the are American, “says Johan Oberg.

BCG report measures the combination of share price increases and dividend for 2000 global companies.
