Nokia said the 1,300 employees in Finland – Vaasa blade

FNB –

Nokia starts statutory negotiations to cut away approximately 1 300 jobs in Finland. The reduction is part of a global program.

The cuts apply to all groups and support activities within Nokia’s networks unit. They affect all places where Nokia has operations. About half of the staff reductions made in Espoo, about a quarter of Oulu and about a quarter of Tampere.

The cuts will depend on Nokia’s purchase of Alcatel-Lucent.

The reduction is part of the savings target of 900 million euros as Nokia has previously announced for.

Nokia announced that the company arranged a meeting for staff reductions on Wednesday. Corresponding meetings are organized in nearly 30 countries. The procedure and timetables vary from country to country.

Nokia announced a year ago that the company buys Alcatel-Lucent for 15.6 billion euros. There is the question of Finland’s largest acquisitions.
