Construction said no to medlarbud – Build World

Building have said no to the mediators bid on an agreement with the Swedish Construction Federation on a new construction contract.

This means that a strike could break out on Tuesday.

On Saturday gave mediators a bid.

 - We regret Building chooses to reject the mediators bid. The mediators have put a lot of time and effort to find a solution that is good for both parties. Now say no to building a low-wage, improving gender equality, integration, and an improved working environment. They also say no to an extended opportunity to delegate mandate to the union shop stewards. Although we complied with them in the chord issue they choose still to say no to the mediators bid, says Mats Åkerlind, negotiator for the Swedish Construction Federation, in a statement.

Åkerlind believes that it is obvious that there is only about a power struggle within the LO unions over who sets the pay level. What 6F Building and want is that their höglöneförbund will pull away even more. They do not care if it takes place in the female-dominated low-wage affiliates expense. The building would abandon solidarity salary model given real wage increases for all are deeply troubling.

To Build rejected the mediators’ bid motivate those with the offer includes a frontal attack on their pay systems and ultimately to attack on the Swedish model.

 - Chord Wages are a foundation for the entire construction industry and employers and construction workers the opportunity to influence and participation in the workplace. We have a unique system that has been very favorable for the industry for many years and it is worth preserving, says Johan Lindholm, General President, in a press release.

 - We entered into this agreement with the movement of the will to work with the employer to discuss future issues. We need to take vigorous action against low-wage competition and other unwanted in the industry. We need to meet the labor needs of women, apprentices and new arrivals. We had high hopes that BI would like to take this responsibility with us.

Negotiations continue, but will not agree triggers building a construction strike on Tuesday 12 April.
