Chamber of Commerce: ID checks costs billions – Ystad Allehanda

On Friday, the Commerce submits a report to the government. According to the calculations of the costs of border and identity checks at the Öresund Link billions if they persist. According to figures released by the Chamber of Commerce of today’s industry is about SEK 1.5 billion per year.

Chamber of Commerce Vice President Per Tryding is strongly negative to the introduction of requirements for carriers to do ID checks.

– What happens when you build a better road or rail? The argument for it is that it gets better exchange, the labor market work better. What they have done with identification controls is that you have removed availability, says Per Tryding to Kristianstadsbladet.

But while the situation extraordinary. The Chamber of Commerce says that politicians would not have taken any action at all?

– Our starting point is that you should be able to act in extreme situations. Even when the bridge was built foresaw this and wrote policing agreements on cooperation would be handled. Our criticism is more how to have done it. They’ve landed in a tedious solution and created an unfortunate situation.
