Nordea declared on Thursday’s news conference the bank now launched its own investigation based on information in the leaked documents Panama.

Earlier on Friday FSA announced that not only Nordea, but also, Handelsbanken, SEB and Swedbank is subject to regulatory review. Reportedly SvD act now the other three major banks and conduct their own internal investigations.

The other banks are also in the law firm Mossack Fonseca documents, but not nearly to the same extent as Nordea. But now they do then the same as Nordea.

– The Financial Supervisory Authority’s role to review the financial market, and we will assist them. But we also do its own review, says Laurence Westerlund, Press Officer at SEB to SvD.

– It will be a natural extension of the FSA. If they ask questions we will answer them, then we go to our different activities and examine it based on the questions Financial Supervisory Authority, he said.

The own review has just begun , and will go hand in hand with the Financial Supervisory Authority, he says.

will you and the FSA to find where you are helped, for example, set up letterbox?

– I know I do not. But the answer is that we do not give our clients advice on hiding away money for tax reasons, we want our customers to be tax-transparent, says Laurence Westerlund.

Swedbank will also go through their business.

– we have already launched their own investigation about why we were in these documents. We reject tax evasion, there is nothing we should devote ourselves, says Claes Warren, press officer at Swedbank.

But do you do it anyway?

– no, I’m pretty confident that we do not. Not in the near future, anyway.

The documents leaked out stretches back to the 70s, he explains, and how it looked far back in time can Claes Warrén do not say.

Swedbank decided early on when the Panama scandal became known to do its own investigation. Similarly made Handelsbanken.

– We have made our own extensive investigation. It’s almost done, says Johan Wallqvist, press manager at Handelsbanken.

– We have not found some oddities. If we could find something as there has been in violation of our internal rules. Our policy is not to participate in such a thing, says Johan Wallqvist.
