The Swedish Migration Board: 28 billion extra – Helsingborgs Dagblad

The large expenditure item is the compensation and housing costs. In the last budget allocated 12.5 billion crowns this year. Migration Board believes, however, need 40.9 billion. The extra money work requests is more than double the amount allocated in the budget.

2017 assessed the total cost of allowances and accommodation to rise to 41.7 billion. The following year is a decrease to 27.5 billion to land at SEK 16.2 billion in 2020.

From 2017 forward expected benefits to the municipalities increase dramatically 99 million extra needed in 2017, but in 2018 the figure rises to 10.3 billion, 2019-17 and 2020 billion to SEK 16.9 billion in addition to the proposed budget.

Migration Board notes in the basis for the government to the business is “very underfunded” at the beginning of 2016. the reason is that the budget was based on the Agency’s forecast in July 2015, when the situation was different. Current estimates are based on the latest forecast in February, when the Migration Board estimated that between 70,000 to 140,000 asylum seekers are expected during the year.

Alongside this there are already 180,000 enrolled in the reception system, of which 150,000 are waiting for a decision from the Immigration Service.
