Today came Bankers’ Association figures on how many people paid off their loans in December. And Bankers Association CEO Hans Lindberg says that it has now established a repayment culture among banks.
– I think that definitely, when the FSA began to look at this with a mortgage, then it was as low as 44 percent amortized their loans and that is the figure that is up to 94 percent now. So it is a great gain, says Hans Lindberg.
If there are as many as amortising as these figures show, why is regulation then?
– I think it’s important that we get an on the spot anyway. This culture’ve built up with the expectations of a forthcoming regulation.
