Around 21:30 pm on Sunday evening came several calls to the police about a severe fire and explosion in a building in the district Kirseberg in Malmo.

After clock 21:27 on Sunday evening began several calls come in to the police about a fire and subsequent explosion in a building in Malmo. Police, fire brigade and ambulance were sent to the scene. The rescue service noted shortly thereafter that the eastern part of the building, which is a recreation center, ravaged by fire.
At 21:40 the fire was extinguished.
– Since then it has been going on for extinguishing and smoke diving in the premises.
The building is described as completely blown out. According to police, the evidence suggests also that there has been a Demolition. It is unclear what caused the fire.
– The locale is significantly damaged where it is burned, there is extensive damage. These are some kind of explosion. If there is anything thrown in from outside or something caused by the fire remains to be seen, says Stephan Söderholm, duty officer at the command center.
It will now conduct a fire investigation to determine how the fire started.
