Up on Wall Street – Swedish Dagbladet

The US stock markets rose slightly on Monday, despite conflicting statistical information on how the economy recovers.

The rate of growth in the manufacturing sector rose in May, according to figures from the Institute of Supply Management. Other statistics reveal that investments in construction increased, while household spending will, however unexpectedly subdued.

Intel, which on Monday announced that the processor giant buys competitor Altera, fell 1.6 percent.

Dow Jones Industrial Index went up 0.2 percent, while the Nasdaq composite index rose 0.3 percent.
