The prices at the restaurant rises – Västerbotten Courier

When most other prices lying still has tavern prices stuck in the road in recent months. Sales were up more than 7 percent in February compared to the same month last year, according to Statistics Sweden.

– There are several reasons. One is that food prices increased sharply after Christmas, more precisely twice as much as the restaurant prices, and of course it is very noticeable for our members, says Eva Ostling, President of trade and employers’ organization Visita.

Other reasons are that hotel and restaurant have difficulty recruiting staff and the need to attract higher wages, she points out. A third reason is uncertainty about policy decisions on labor charges and taxes.

– There is a huge uncertainty in the industry of the future, says Eva Ostling.

Sales, in terms of volume, rose in February by 4.5 percent compared with the same month last year. But at current prices is sales 7.1 per cent higher than the same time last year. The best so far this year it has been for the hotels’ restaurant sales, plus 6.9 per cent in volume and 9.3 percent in current prices.
