Fingerprint Cards sales higher than expected – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

“It will enter orders all the time. Normally we have long lead times in our deliveries, but sometimes it will enter orders on what we have in stock we can execute directly,” says Fingerprint Cards CEO Jorgen Lantto to Direkt.

The preliminary assessment first quarter sales now amount to just over SEK 125 million, which is higher than the earlier forecast of sales in line with the 105 million reported in the fourth quarter of 2014.

This trend does not change anything in terms of Fingerprint Cards expectations about the development of the entire 2015 and the earlier forecast of a sales exceeding 1 billion.

“This is part of the forecast that we will sell a billion, Then came this sale a little surprising rapidly during the first quarter. We have said that the full year will be heavy at the back and that sales in the second half will be larger than in the first half, “said Jorgen Lantto.

He also remains at that sales are expected to increase gradually quarter by quarter during the year, without wanting to break down exactly to the individual quarters.

“We’ve gone out with three large orders in a relatively short time and they were for deliveries during both second and third quarter, “he says.

The three major orders FPC received in recent weeks on the touch sensors have been to the Chinese phone providers and thus refers not deliveries to South Korea’s Samsung. Jorgen Lantto would not comment on plans to deliver to Samsung, the company’s sales forecast for the 2015th

“Samsung accounts for about 20 percent of the smartphone market and Apple account for about 20 percent. Apple is not included in our addressable market. There is nothing that says that other providers will not be using fingerprint sensors. The market is large addressing with or without Samsung, “he says.

As far as profitability repeat Fingerprint Cards that operating income for the first quarter is expected to be negative . As before, Jorgen Lantto refrain from making any prediction as to when profitability can be achieved.

“All I have said is that given that we will reach 1 billion in annual sales, we will turn a profit for the full year, but exactly when it will happen, I would not comment, “he says.
