Norwegian: Go with the requirements or lose my job – Aftonbladet

Here is Norwegian’s next move in the air strike.

According to NRK, the company has set an ultimatum to the Swedish pilots: Go to our demands before 16:00 or lose your job .

– You try to get pilots to run towards the door and accept, says Martin Lindgren, President of the Swedish pilot association.

Yesterday, the Norwegian will be starting three new subsidiaries for its pilots. One of the Swedish pilots, one for the Norwegian and the Danish.

In connection with the reorganization, the company sent out a letter to its employees. The letter makes it an ultimatum: accept the terms or get fired, experience NRK.

– If you do not want to be transferred from the Norwegian Air Norway AS to Pilot Services Sweden AB must inform the airline before 16 o’clock on March 6, writes Norwegian in the letter to the Swedish pilots, according to NRK.

“There is no threat whatsoever”

According to Charlotte Holmbergh Jacobsson, Director of Communications for Norwegian in Sweden, the letter was not interpreted as a threat.

– It is a mere formality and no threat whatsoever. This is of course for them to choose, if they do not want to be involved so they may say no, she says.

So it is not true that they lose their job if they say no?

– If they do, then they will return to NAN. And where there are no jobs so then you can say that they lose their job.

Pilots’ve criticized the division into three subsidiaries. In order not to lose the job they have to accept it. Is not that a threat?

– I do not think it’s the pilots who think so, but the tray.

But the union representing the pilots?

– Yes, but that’s not all pilots who like what Parathyroid doing.

The union calls for calm

Swedish Pilot Association knew ultimatum:

– It is again a message that is in line with the Norwegian has the bite itself in the conflict. You try to get pilots to run towards the door and accept, says Martin Lindgren, president.

According to him, the pilots before 16.00 to answer whether the pilots supports Norwegian’s planned business transition or not.

– If you do not, it creates a shortage of work, and then you would be subject to dismissal. Norwegian wants to put pressure and get the pilots to take individual decisions, says Lindgren.

The Danish pilots have received the same requirements as the Swedish, while the Norwegian receive two weeks. This is because countries’ laws are different.

Pilot Association’s advice is to not succumb to the threat.

– We advise our members to sit quietly in the boat and wait. Of course we have got questions about this. This does not affect the situation as such to get an ultimatum. The strike continues until one can get a new collective agreement. The pilots are on strike. They are not at all listen to the employer in this situation. You should let their union representatives to litigate, says Martin Lindgren.
