Nothing new has come out from the night’s proceedings

The parties to the conflict flights have been in negotiations since yesterday afternoon and they have lasted all night. The news agency NTB writes that it has received confirmation from both sides that it “made real attempts to find a way out of the frozen conflict” and the leadership of Norwegian has said that the company has extended far.

– Negotiations are underway and that’s all I can tell, says Norwegian’s Communications Charlotte Holmbergh Jacobsson to TT at halvniotiden.

Support Strike in Finland

The Company announces that almost all domestic flights in Sweden and Norway and a limited number in Denmark, is set today. While conducting the Finnish trade union Aviation Union (IAU) a fourteen hours long supported the strike, which means canceled and delayed flights from Helsinki. According to news agency STT believes Norwegian to support the strike is illegal and warns the IAU for the economic consequences.

Costly conflict

Norwegian estimated 130 000 passengers so far been affected by the strike and the estimated cost of well over 100 million. The exact amount is unclear, but experts estimate the cost of tens of millions of dollars each day.

The conflict stems from the pilots want a collective agreement directly with the parent company Norwegian Air Shuttle, NAS, instead of its subsidiary, Norwegian Air Norway , NAN, where they are employed. The requirement is part of the company regarded as completely unreasonable and during the conflict have all pilots transitioned into three newly formed subsidiaries: Pilot Services Norway, Denmark and Pilot Services Pilot Services Sweden.
